pushrods: 1-piece vs 3-piece?

pushrods: 1-piece vs 3-piece? Considering staying with Manton for my next motor, but then I remembered I never really understood the pros/cons of each design. I guess one con of the 3-piece would be if the tip broke off, and one pro could be that it might be easier to make the exact lengths with the 3-piece?
