Lq4 rebuild internal troubles
I just got my LQ4. Doing a swap in my 86 Monte Carlo SS. Will drive the car to work about 3-4 times a week to the track and to our weekend night cruisesand have some fun. I want to take it on the power tour next year also. Shooting for 450-500 N/A with an MFI setup next year. Considering a decent build since I am putting money into the top end I might as well put a touch on the bottom end. I want to keep the stock crank.
A few questions:
What combination would be good?
Stock crank, stock rods, aftermarket pistons, arp rod bolts, standard bore or .030 (wouldn't mind a little more CI).
What aftermarket pistons are good?
I am having trouble finding threads on mild built bottom end LQ4's. Any response would be a great help. Thanks.

Check out K1 or Scat rods; both are pretty cheap $$ wise. I think K1 sells Weisco pistons and rings also. Gm High Tech did a similar build. It was around $7000 for the long block, but you might not need everything they built. AES' price looks pretty good.
