Email me your tune and I'll take a look. edcmat-l1@msn.com

BTW, this thread would probably be better served over in the tuning section.

I was hoping you'd pipe in here. Mike's out of town this weekend and away from the car. He did tell me his timing is going up as far as 40 degrees of advance...He is in SD mode.

Curiouser and curiouser.

I will get the tune file and a log file over to you when I get home tonight.

Thanks for the assistance.

Default Update

Just thought I would chime in and give an update. Seems some of the "issue" I was having with the car was voltage related. I had a failing alternator and it was playing havoc with the computer. Seems the electronics work best around the 13v range. So I upgraded to a higher output alt and changed out the pully to an overdrive unit (because I presently run a 20% underdrive crank pully). Now the voltage is rock solid at 14v and I have not had anymore KR issues. But I am having a ground issue now but that does not seem to be affecting performance just the flippin blinkers

I chalk up the ground issue to the many miles this car has seen at the track; vibrations and better yet high frequency vibrations have lossened more than one bolt/connector and it seems a ground has suffered this fate as well. Now I just have to find the sucker. So if anyone out there has a schematic of the turn signals and requisite ground point I would greatly appreciate an assist. Thanks all.

I had to buy a PowerMaster alt. to keep my battery( red top )charged. I kept frying the stock ones. I never had knock retard due to the sensers being removed. I had other electrical problems with the low voltage. i also wrapped the starter with insulation to protect it as well as a bunch of wires. We lost the crank senser wiring while on the dyno a couple of moths ago due to heat issues. Yes these cars electronics have a great current draw. Add any other electrical parts and your asking for trouble

Mike,

Glad the alternator solved the KR problem. Check the grond on the back of the head on the driver's side.

I would agree with Kevin here. I believe the bolt on the back of the head is the culprit. Many years ago i had the same issue and i finally threw a star washer on this bolt and it took care of the problem. Also had the same deal going on with low voltage gremlins and ever since getting a new high output alt. it took care of it all. Glad you got this worked out.

Thanks... I will check out that ground and I should have some star washers floating around so I will stick one of those on.

It has definately been a labor of love to get my car back to the state it was before the engine blew back in Aug 07. Back then, jump in, fire it up and hang on but in reality the effort has been well worth it

Good read and information. Glad you got your car back up and running properly. I would of figured that the voltage regulator would have of been more accurate than 10V-15V. I guess that is the standard for mass production, seems a little high to me.

What are the symptoms of the blinker issue?
