Default L92 cam and valvetrain question

I searched and read several threads, but did not find an answer.

Looking install L92 heads on my stock cube LS2 block along with a cam (probably ~22x / ~23x range with lift in the high .500 to low .600 range). Would I need to upgrade the valve springs and rockers? Would it also be wise to switch to one piece intake valves?

Thanks

I'd definitely be swapping the valve springs. Comp 918's are popular but I dont really like em. PAC1518's are also good.

For duals again PAC or Patriot Golds.

Stock rockers are the best way to go IMO as well.

Yeah - upgrade the springs. I have a stock LS2 with milled L92 heads. You're going to like it. I currently have a 228/230 cam and going to swap in a 230/236 cam to try and take better advantage of the heads.

I would get the springs recommended by the cam manufacturer and use a set of one piece hardened pushrods of the appropriate length for insurance.

patriots springs are good but the supplied hardware is garbage. just alittle fyi. all i was able to use were the springs themselves. the retainers and seats where disgusting. ended up going with the comp retainers.

Thanks everyone!

I'm still reading up on and looking at cams, might go with a Texas-Speed cam

Odd? Mine were very cherry. The retainers and locks were probably the nicest part of the kit in fact. Maybe they switched vendors? Dunno

As for pushrods yes for sure have to swap those too. Make sure you get correct length for the cam you choose ( base circle differences etc. )

For $25.00 more you could get a PatrickG custom grind done that will be matched to your goals. Worth a look anyways
