Default Looking for help with some pistons

Hello all my first post here. I am looking to replace the pistons in my ct 525 with something better. I know that I can special order pistons if I need to but I was hoping for an of the shelf forging instead. JE lists one very close but has .015 shorter comp distance, valve reliefs, and the weight is 440 grams vs 505. Gm lists the 376 lsx piston 19166957 which would work perfect but non are available as far as I know. Does anyone know what the story on this piston is?

Are you trying to stick with the stock connecting rods, or could you go with a 6.125"? The 6.125" rod would open up a slew of piston options (bore size, volume, and stronger forgings)! I am not familiar with the 19166957 piston, other than knowing it is only the 4032 forging (stock in the CT525 was a hypereutectic and some of the stronger aftermarket pieces are 2618).

Let us know if we can help!

Thanks, Yes I want to stick with the stock rods. Just want to get away from the hyper explosive pistons. The application is a jet boat so I need something just a little stronger. The lsx 376 has two differnt numbers for the pistons in it. One is the 19166957 and the other is a 12166957. Some books say that it has 10.7:1 same as the ct525 while others say that it has only 9:1. I was really hoping that I could get that piston as it is the same weight and would be a bolt in piece.

Looks like I might have found what I am looking for. Victory racing engines has developed a piston with Diamond pistons for this exact situation that fits the ct525,ls375/515, ls376/480, plus the new ls3 engines in the new Camaro. Got them on order so i will let evryone know how it goes.
