Default DOD lifter P/N difference 595 vs 256

GM sell two different DOD lifters
12571595 (LS4) and 12569256 (G8 and L99) Does anybody know the differences between the two? Can I use either or in my LS4?
I bought a set of 9256's and plan on using them in place of my broken 1595's.
I am thinking that the 9256 lifters are a little more stronger.

Delete the DOD! You're going to end up doing it anyways. Those DOD lifters blow. Than put a cam in...

I deleted the DOD on my truck and didn't loose any MPG. I put a cam and heads on at the same time too. Of course I weight like 6000# so there might have been a few tenths in there that I wouldn't see but might be a 1 MPG for you...

There are early and late lifters. One is by Eaton, one by Delphi. There is also a newer one due soon as the earlier ones have proven noisy..though the Delphi's are an improvement on the Eatons. Eatons have 3 slots in the top piece.
