Knocking low millage LS2

Knocking low millage LS2 We recently got a LS2 GTO at 38xxx miles, put about 2k miles on it and I am starting to notice a very noticeable knock when the car is cold and under load.
There is a ticking come out of the driver side exhaust tip, The knock goes with the RPMs its extreamly noticeable when the car is cold but after about 30 mins of driving it goes away to where don't hear it unless you're trying really hard to hear it.
At first i thought it was just piston slap, but then got to thinking with the ticking out of the exhaust maybe I have something wrong with the valvetrain?
Any thoughts? its a 05 ls2 with a A4 transmission.

Piston slap I have 2 motors in my garage right now that had the same noise,an L-92 and an L-Q4 both warranty.That is common in all LS motors.With a head off I can rock a piston by hand to make the sound you hear.Both motors had under 40,000 miles.That is my guess, but a good one.
If its a knock it may be piston slap. If its a tick it may be a lifter. I know GM had a TSB for some of the LS2 corvettes a while back for the piston slap. You may want to look into that.
Guys, I am looking at a LS2 from a 06 GTO with only 29K miles (car is totalled) He told me his car had the same problem before he wrecked it. (knock on the bottom end) If it is from pistons rocking, how is it fixed? If the cylinder walls are not bad can it be honed and reringed? Thanks in advance!
