Any advise on this On my 98SS I am bout to replace the head gaskets
anything else I should do while I have the engine out?? I am kinda new at this
but I would like to hear some input from the experts
I am going to change the water pump to..
On my sig is what I already have.. and there is only 81k miles on the bottom..
any advise or comments are greatly welcome..

I'm no expert but...
-You don't have to remove the motor to do head gaskets.
-Be aware that the GM head bolts are not reusable.
-Be sure to thoroughly clean the gasket surfaces, and it'll take a while if the car was not using steel gaskets. Also, thoroughly clean the head bolt holes before reassembly.
-Follow proper head bolt torque instructions.
I hope your thread helps you out, if you've never done this job before, just know that it's a fairly involved job. Good luck.

thank you thank you... yea i think your right i dont have to the only reason i did before was becuase we swithed out cams.. but i will do that.. thanks anything else peeps?

damm well i guess i did that for nothing but it sure was easier.. i am tell my friend who helped me cuz he graduated from Wyotech ahaha damm i am even blame him for the head gasket lmao
