Drilling through reluctor for balance slugs?
A former student of mine had his crank balanced at a local machine shop known for high end circle track race engines. However they have limited experience with LS series, and did not have the tool to reinstall the reluctor. His machine shop drilled through the reluctor to slug the #5 counterweight.
It is a 24x LS1 crank being used in an LS2. They did not drill through the rivets or spot welds that hold the two pieces of reluctor together.
He lives in Texas so I suggested he ship it to Erik @HKE but he didn't want to wait for shipping downtime. Opinions?
