locktite: yes/no?

I'll be putting together my motor I just bought from TSP. Installing all the topend hardware, is locktite on the threads a bad or good idea? I've heard both. Builder please voice your opinions, thanks!!!

Depends what you are talking about. Maybe the rockers if anything. Covers and that kind of stuff don't need any. Heads bolts won't need any. I would put some on cam bolts, cam retainer plate bolts, etc. I would use blue also. Red always seems to need a torch to get it loose!

I personally use red loctite on the cam bolts, all 5 oil pump bolts, cam retainer bolts, chain tensioner bolts, and the little ones that hold in the lifter trays.I never have a problem removing any of them later with hand tools.
