trouble with guide plates

trouble with guide plates was putting my new rockers on and tryed to put on the guide plate for the pushrod on to the head and it didnt lay flat it was lifted on one side not letting it bolt flush to the head im running a set of wcch 245cc heads besides machinig the heads for the guidw plates to wrk is there anything else that can be done
