Need some help with a lifter tray
Need some help with a lifter tray i got a 07 5.3 and i bought some earlier lifter trays and they dont wanna fit. is there different style lifter trays? i took a picture and the reason it wont fit is there is a part of the block that protrudes out and wont let the lifter trays fit down in the right spot. the protrusion is right in between thefirst and second lifter in the pic? do i need different lifter trays or what??

You need LS2/LS3/LS7 style lifter trays. Those have the notch to match the Gen IV block, you probably have Gen III style replacement lifter trays which do not work unless you machine that notch out of the block.
