Default Need cam reccomendations.

Hey guys I'm new on this Forum, and I have a question for you LS engine junkies. I've got an 08 G8 GT with an MP1900 Maggie @10LBS, Roto Fab, and some other goodies, that I'm pulling the heads off of soon to do a lifter conversion on because I'm tired of the horrible clattering of the DoD's. I've also got some 1:8 Yella Terra's on the way too that are prototypes. I've got a little extra change and I'm highly considering doing a cam while I've got the engine torn apart. I hear that Lingenfelter makes awesome Supercharger cams, and I was wondering if they make a cam that lopes just a little bit that I won't have to swap TQ Converters for. My G8 stalls under WOT @2300 RPM.... What do you guys think? This possible? Thanks for any suggestions.

-Robbie.

Talk to Bob@BruteSpeed he might be able to help you and Speedinc carries some good blower cams. Good Luck!

The LPE GT11 cam comes to mind off the bat. 215/231 .631/.644 118.0 LSA, make sure you check PTV clearance will lift that high, but it is a great F/I cam. Also the LPE GT2-3 is a little milder at 207/220 .571/.578 118.5 LSA. You could definitely run the GT2-3 without worrying about PTV. The LPE GT2-3 I'd be willing to bet would work with your current stall perfectly, but the GT11 will lope harder having longer exhaust duration. Both great cams for superchaged apps, and I think the GT2-3 was designed for supercharged motors. Then you also have the GT9 at 215/247 .629/.656 121 LSA, or the stock ZR1 cam would work well. It specs at 211/230 .558/.552 122.5 CL. IMO all these cams would work well, but the GT11 would definitely need fly cutting or detailed PTV clearance checking.

Sweet! Thanks for the helpful info. I've looked at the GT2-3 and it's pretty sweet and it's got a little lope at idle from what I've seen on YouTube. I've got my own HPTuners that I've done alot of tunes with, and with a little VE chessworking it should lope even harder, but with a stock Converter. Just wanted to see if I was going in the right direction. Thanks again!

You can make any cam lope with tuning. PTV should be plenty fine with a 215/231, especially on 118. Max lift is achieved when the piston is farthest from the valves.
