Cam Question (variable Timing)
Cam Question (variable Timing) I just purchased a ly6 and is swapping this out from my lt1, the motor is a 2009 and has variable timing, I plan on putting this in a sand car and my EFI will not support the variable timing (electromotive system)
What do I have to do to swap out the variable timing when i switch the cam?
do i need a new timing cover? what style chain, is the oil pump the same?
I do not know much about the ls style motors any help will be appreciated.

You should really consider getting an E38 processor like the one that came with your LY6. Then you could retain the cam phasing that your LY6 motor cam with.

I think it would be to much work, my whole car is intergrated into the ecm, from the dash to the Vox headsets and the car to car unit, i would have to pretty much re-wire the rail from tim to tail.
from what i read, dont I just have to change the cam, witch needs to go anyway, and the timing chain set, with also replacing the cover, my pcm is a waisted spark, so i am not real concerned about the cam sensor.
is there anything i am missing?
