Default Stroke

Most build 4" strokes.Any longer puts the piston skirt out of the bottom of the bore making it tough to survive.I am sure I will get blasted by guys running the longer stroke, but for 9 more C.I its not needed.Just my 2 cents.Good luck with your build.

^^^^ I am with him. i am building a 418 l92 motor and I am going with a 4 inch stroke because I was worried about piston rocking in the bore at bdc. Plus I plan on hitting it with a 300 shot so I needed a better compression height and didn't want any crank deflection.

sounds like what i would want to hear, i was worried about the piston coming out the bottom more than what its safe, 418 sound like a plan afterall. Another question is how are people running ls1 heads on ls3 blocks if the rockers are offset?

The rockers are only offset because the valves in the head are moved over compared to a cathedral head.
