Will be installing a LS7 w/ automatic
Will be 4 speed auto (6 speed not a option)
Looking at 19154550
SuperMatic 4L85-E 4-Speed Transmission
Recommendations or know problems.
Know about the controller, not a issue
Thanks
Al

Much better ratios than a 4L60E
Much stronger than a 4L60E
Very strong upgrade parts available if you need them later.
Many parts interchange with TH400.
Not really much bigger than a 4L60E.
I have one behind my 496 with a 14-71. It has a DIY Rebuild and a FMVB conversion (no electronics) and the only problem is a slow 2-3 shift, that is a known problem with the FMVB kit that I used, and not a problem with electronic units.
The 4L80E is a very good transmission.
Don't be afraid to cut off the wings, they serve no purpose.
