Basic rebuild questions..
Basic rebuild questions.. Looks like my LS2 needs new cam bearings. My lifters went out a while ago and it appears it may have caused some collateral damage. The engine wasn't knocking from the bottom end, but I want to go ahead and replace the main and rod bearings while I have the engine out for the cam bearing swap.
My questions are this.
1) Assuming the crank is fine, can I just install new bearings and GM bolts, torque them and call it a day if the clearances are in check?
2) Can I remove the rings, clean the grooves, and reinstall the same rings? Or should I just leave the pistons alone?
3) What if all my bearings look fine? Can I just retorque the rod and main caps back on?
