Question Need some help going from Ls1 to Ls2...

Ok i have my engine sold by next from my 99 z28 but i found a Ls2 motor from a 08 2500 Van with only 1800 the motor it is like new.
Now for switching from Ls1 to Ls2 what i going to need mod in my car?
I tried to find the options labels from the van to see if the motor is an lq4 or lq9 and could't. Is any other way i identify what kind of 6.0 liter is it from the outside? Probably i going to need the knock sensor extentions !
But people who did this in the past can tell me in what i need to put my attention or what i have to buy finish the convertion?
Thanks for your help.

If the vans a 6.0L it most likely is an LY6 if its an 08. Look in the glove box for the RPO codes, the three digit engine code should be a long list of them.

Vans never had an LS2 or LQ9. They will only have the LQ4 for 6.0L pre-07 and LY6 after 07. Now the vans also could have a 4.8L they never had the 5.3l's so beware and make sure.

Also the eighth digit of the VIN will tell you if its a 6.0L. Should be a U

It is not an LS2 in a van I am sure.....

Use this website and you can figure it out with the 8th character of the vin.... >>> http://service.gm.com/dealerworld/vi...-09%20r1.1.pdf
