P0016 Crankshaft position - camshaft position correlation (bank 1 sensor A)
Ok so my car just started throwing this code. The car still runs exactly the same as before the code. I've changed the camshaft position sensor already, plan on doing the crankshaft position sensor tonight and a case learn to see if that clear the DTC. Posted on LS2GTO also-this has be confusedQQQQQ
I had the same thing, I did exactly what you are trying, replace sensors, then try case learn. That did not solve it so I turned off the code, car runs fine. I would like to know what the real issue is.

Hi ,
I hope someone with more experience than myself can interpret these sensor readings.
Background :
2007 HSV gen4 6L LS2 same as Pontiac GTO
DTC P0016 Camshaft position not plausible with crankshaft position (bank 1 sensor 1)
Hard to start and sets engine DTC (I can clear DTC and seems to run alright around the block. I've not taken for longer drive.)
Using WINTECH2 please see video attached, It looks to me as if the Crank shaft sensor is faulty ? (should be similar to cam sensor count output?)
Can anyone show me what a normal crankshaft sensor count plot looks like?
Thanks in advance.
Ok found issue - removed timing chain cover and found timing chain had jumped 2 teeth. Reason tensioner had gone (common from what I've read) Replaced both sprockets and chain and added damper block in lieu of tensioner. Code cleared runs and idles smoother (not surprizingly) If you look at timing dots you can see timing is out. Damper vs Tensioner Failed tensioner cause of code allowing loose chain to jump teeth.
