It would be interesting to see how much harder the alternator has to work to power the electric pump. People think its free horsepower to run an electric pump, but now there is an increased load on the alternator = harder for the engine to turn it over....

I imagine its worth something but from where I race, guys would use the electric pump in the staging lanes on full blast getting the car cool.
Then shut it off completely for the drag run and have very little accessory drive load on the engine. Thats where I imagine the most benefit would be.

So what's the best way to do the BBC pump mod? Is there a specific pump that everyone uses over others, and where do you get the adapters?

Few quick questions:

1) I don't see anyone using an inline water pump like the EMP Stewart pump, why is this?

http://www.stewartcomponents.net/Mer...Code=ElectPump

2) I have a vert and would like to keep my heat, is that at all possible?

3) Would I need to run a Temp for a DD?

4) Should I look at a 60gpm or 55gpm for a 450c.i.d.

5) How reliable are the Street EWP for daily use. I don't want to be driving down to Miami and it go out and then I'm stuck

6) Can I use the Stock Rad

Thanks guys!
