Default Cam bearings ?

Anyone know a part number, or best place to source ?

For an LS2 block.

For some odd reason, the front cam bearing has shifted in towards the engine and a lifter started to chew it up. I think I'm very lucky to have caught it in time !!

The others appear fine.

Any causes ? It seemed tight enough to knock out.

I haven't got a clue on P/N's. However, once upon a time I saw a thread a fellow HPTuners user started, that the center bearing moved backwards and the same thing happened due to poor oil flow. The cam would grip the bearing and spin it. What kind of cam? I can't see your sit if its in there because I'm on a phone

Cant see why oilflow would be an issue. Big ends are perfect, and everything else is in perfect condition. Just the front bearing has moved. And being the front bearing, it has more access to oilflow than any other bearing other than the rear camshaft bearing.

Cam is just a normal 232/240, nothing outrageous.

TBH, there are no signs that the bearing has rotated. Just that it is in too far. I guess that can only make me think it's been like that since I got it.

Cant recall ever checking when I put it together, and dont have any photographs of the engine with that area open. Didnt see any reason to check !

Thanks. Found a few places selling them, not as expensive as I had thought.

Hopefully can source some locally though, if not will have to get from abroad.

The offending part. I tapped it back into place, and it is an extremely tight fit in the hole. I dont see any possible way that it can have moved.
The front lifter on the right side when viewing engine done the damage ( cylinder 1 )
