Default quick dumb lifter question

ok, i turned 2 of the LS7 lifters in my motor into solid lifters (dumbass me). anyways, i went to the dealer to buy 2 lifters to replace them with and noticed that i couldnt compress the plunger in the new lifters at all.

the lifters in my motor only have 15k miles on them, but you can push the plunger down into the lifter with a little force from you thumb. the new ones feel like a solid lifter. i shoved as hard as i could with my thumb and it wouldnt budge.

is this normal? i just wanted to ask before i button this motor back up and end up needing new lifters in the end.
