Help me nail down a combo
Ok,
I have a G8 GT and im trying to nail down the combo i want to put on the car so i can get parts ordered and get it going. My goals for the car are as follows:
-450whp + (no more than 485-500)
-Maintain decent street manners
-Maintain at least semi decent fuel mileage(obviously gonna loose some)
-Dont want cam profiles etc that are gonna kill valvetrain parts.
-Basically want it to run like it should have from GM lol, and last a
good while. Its a driver not a track car.
The budget is approx 6k installed and tuned. (if possible)
Any advice i could gather i would much appreciate.

You've probably heard it before but the l92 head and a good cam with a great intake will net you those numbers. Or you can go with a blower but you better have better internals if you go over 500 hp. You can stroke it out to a 408. You can get a rotating assembly pretty cheap these days but I would balance it all. So many different ways to do it but it all depends on what you want and who's building it.

yea im not seeing where its neccessary to build a stroker to come close to those power levels. id stretch the budget a good bit if needed, but honestly i dont know that its needed. I really dont want to put boost on a stock bottom end at all.
Possible Combo:
Mast LS3-Med Bore 12-degree black label heads
Fast 102
Stock ported TB
Roto-fab
Kooks LT, Off-Road X, and Solo Axle-Back
Cam?????
Tuned(Probably be done by Mike Norris)
Thats sorta the high buck version the other one is
Dr J Airwolf LS3 heads(pro comp castings)
Ported LS3 intake
Stock Ported TB
Roto-fab
Kooks LT, Off-Road X, and Solo Axle-Back
Cam???
Tuned(Probably be done by Mike Norris)
With either setup probably going to run a 3200 stall yank or precision or should i look at a different speed? or manufacture?
They dont have the triple disc stalls really lined out do they?

smallish cam and aftermarket heads are a bit of a waste for your HP goal.
Have WCCH port your stock heads
102/102
4" CAI and MAF
FTI cam 234/240 112 range.
Manton 11/32 .125 or next size down push rods
Lunati gold spring kit
4" exh or cutout
