Default ls7 piston dishing

can someone tell me why the ls7 piston has symmetrical piston dishing?
It has 4 holes for valves such that the piston could be put in 180 degrees off and still have valve clearance.
does this make assembly cheaper? more balanced? cheaper manufacturing?

I was unable to find the answer to this on the net.
thanks

I would guess it is in case someone assembles one upside down you avoid a catastrophic engine event. I have seen this on lots of factory engines over the years.

Its so you can use 8 of the same piston in the engine, instead of needing different ones for the left and right bank

The pistons are not symmetrical however. The skirt is wider on one side of the piston compared to the other.

So when you install them in the engine, the dots will face forward on one bank and backwards on the other.
