Default Where to order custom pistons

For my engine build, I'm planning to use 6.067-in length LS7 rods with a factory GM 3.622-in stroke crank. The LS7 rods also use smaller 0.9525-in pins compared to standard 0.927-in pins. The block is a factory L92 with 4.065-in bore.

So obviously this will require the use of custom pistons. I've emailed both Diamond and Wiseco TWICE with the details and I have not gotten any response

Does anyone have any idea what a set will cost me? I'm anticipating $800-$1000 from what I've read on here.

I've also read that they are cheaper to order through some engine builder than from the manufacturer directly, can anyone make a recommendation?

I would contact Erik and HKE, he can help you out. He might see this and come in later.

Yes it's always cheaper to order through a builder in general but you need to really know what you want before you order. The LS7 .925 pin can easily be honed out to the .927 as then you have more pins to chose from.

Has anyone actually honed out an LS7 rod?

I took my set to two machine shops and they recommended against it because they said the stock bushing looks to have some type of teflon surface coating.

Yes they are bronze of some kind and they hone just fine. Done a few and they are all still running. We got some already honed as well and they were running fine too. Never heard of any coatings in the pin bore?

If you have to get a custom though you can just keep that .925 pin anyway if you wanted.
