Failed Warhawk blocks
With the above in mind, I would really like to hear from two groups. First, I would like to hear from all with problems with the sleeves dropping. Second, do any of you know of any instances where the liners have actually failed? As soon as I get a couple of stories, I'll post more about why I'm looking for the information. Thanks.

Since my initial problems the motor was reassembled after the block was decked, myself. Everything checked and looked good. Got it up and running and have 15,000 miles or so on it. I had to daily drive this beast for 6 mos. and what a blast it was. Still running great and all my accessories fit without any probs. Had to drill out 2 bosses for LS1 knock sensors. Top right waterpump bolt needed to be shortened.
The block is beefy and probably will hold up to whatever I throw at it.
I did get one of the 1st blocks back in 2007. The priority main oiling is what I was looking for.
World does mention sleeve issues here

Again, thanks. Once you got the decking issue handled are you happy with what you have? I like the strength and oiling characteristics of this block. If I can keep mine and build it reliably, I will.
Honestly, if there is a tried and true solution to the sleeves that works, I'm good. We all pay a good amount of money to play in this arena. I just want to make certain I'm getting what I paid for, and that it will be reliable at the end of the day.
I'm not looking to start a pissing match. The only real use for these forums is to share information. There are only two aftermarket blocks out there in the LS7 ballgame. I am interested in getting a successful build on my project. And I can dispel a myth or two in the process, I'm good.
We all know the after-market is a funny place. Sometime products get to the market before they are vetted like OEM. I can live with that. I want to know and understand the weakness in the Warhawk before it's done and on the road. I would also hate to see that block suffer from endless bad press if it is in fact a good foundation from which to build a STRONG, RELIABLE CUSTOM ENGINE.

I understand what you're saying. I'm just hoping to get some good information before I start assembling components. Yes, So far I have the block crank rods piston ect.... I will likely make a change or two before I get to final assembly.
I actually have a Warhawk set up as well as an LS7 set up. Trying to get to what I want to build and how I want to build it.
Hmmnnn... maybe I should have thought about all this before I started buying...lol Oh well...

Not all the Warhawk blocks are bad. Problem is World has been known to ship some junk blocks. You need to make sure to verify all your lifter bores, mains, etc. before starting any machine work. Like AES mentioned, the proper procedure for decking the block is extremly important. Using a machinist that is familiar with Warhawk blocks will be in your better interest.
Sounds like AES is familiar with the Warhawk blocks and I know for a fact that WESTON MACHINE in N.J. has done quite a few of them....Best of luck with your build.
Check everything, as you should do with any new block including a GM block.
