Default TFS as cast 220

I have, been reading up on this head and im very impressed with what I have seen. But im unsure if me buying this head would make any kind of benefit over what I have. My current heads are a set of t.e.a. Ported stage 3 317's milled to a 64cc chamber with a 2.08 intake/1.60 exhaust valve. The as casts outflow my current heads from .200-.500 and my 317's outflow the as cast 5-9cfm at .600. Should I just save up and get the tfs 225's or would the as casts help me reach my 500 rwhp goal?

You would be surprised at what more flow in the .200-.500 range will do. IMHO, the amount a time the airflow spends at .600 and above is wayyy less then the time you spend at .200-.500. If you have a .632 lift came, you are not at the .600 lift for very long.

My camshaft is a 230/238 .600/.604 so im not worried with over .600 airflow

My 408 has the 225s. Put down 460/440 to the wheels through a turbo 350 and a 5200 converter. I saw the dyno work on another 408 with the 220s. It put down 420ish through a 4l60. Not sure if it was locked or not. Mine runs 10.7s. The other runs 11.50s. We were not real Impressed. However I have recently heard that a little hand work on the heads goes a long way. What " hand work " entails, I don't know. I'm very happy with the 225s. That would be my pick. If that's in the budget.

The 225's would be the better option head for maximum hp. The hand ported 220 is gonna run me alittle over 1900 and the 225 head is almost 2400.
