Default Check engine fuel lean?

hello. i was driving my car today and a check engine light appeared to me. so i went for a diagnostic test, and the reason behind the check engine was (the engine fuel was lean). now that sounds a bit wierd and spooky to me ive never had a problem since ive installed my cam. any opinions towards this matter?

here are the mods ive installed on my car (l99):

- bolt ons
-torque converter
- texas speed vvt-3 camshaft

Thanks.

Check all your vaccum hoses and hose clamps for your intake... if all is good there, put a scanner on it and watch long term fuel trims to verify its actually a lean condition, also watch your o2 sensors and make sure they are switching correctly. If they aren't one may be contaminated....
