G6X3 cam surge issues?
I'm looking to getting this cam for my build
Lq9 short block, ls3 top end and built stalled auto. Its a daylie and someone told me might have surge issues in a auto. Any info thanks

in all honesty its not that big of a cam for a 400 plus cube engine.
they dont give out the specs but its more along the lines of a 23x/24x duration and somewhere around a low 600 lift rate from what I have heard.
my 418 with this cam was in a auto GTO and seemed to do fine, its also all in the tune as well and the torq converter you choose.

I've spent a LOT of time/effort dialing in a friends LS3 in his 2000 Trans Am...built bottom end, ported heads, and that cam...at stock displacement.
His car is an M6.
The car took a LOT of tuning work, but it drives fairly well...yes it does surge, but it puts down some incredible power numbers for the displacement, I would actually expect to be able to absorb a good amount of that with an auto, a decent converter, and work on the shift points/converter clutch lockup.
