how much do clearances open up at temp??

Wandering how much mains open up in the aluminum blocks as the engine comes up to temp? I have way lower hot idle oil pressure than i think i should. My build sheet shows all mains .0018 to .0020 rods are all .0022 to .0025 and it drops from 55psi cold idle to 25psi hot idle. Water temp is right about 200, oil temp is 215ish

I have heard you will gain .001 with heat in the motor. I belive this

I see 80 cold idle and 35 hot as soon as it is off idle it makes about 60 and at 7000 almost 100.

What type of main clearance did you have in your motor this last time Tim?

.002 now. .0024 on the rods.

First time the guy who did the machine work convinced me to set the mains at .027 he also made the main bore too big and lost the crush on the brearing. This time we made the housing bore as small as possible and ground the crank to fit.
