Default Solid lifter?

Guys I got a 05 GTO. Thinking about going ls3 top end and I was wanting to change the cam as well. Wanting to know Pro's and Con's of a solid valvetrain? As for the use of my car it is not a DD just a toy that see's about 3 track outings a year and I put about 3K miles a year.

thanks

Cons Cost ,Maintence, driveability are the big ones.

Pros Bigger cams with more lift and duration, the ability to spin higher rpms, less oil flowing to the top end, less chance of valve float.

At present the intakes that fit under many hoods won't flow enough air to justify a soild roller. IMOP.

Race only car looking to run a number or a class sure, a street driven car Hmm not worth the cost .

Price out just the springs retainers and keepers

A properly designed Hyd roller system with nothing trick will go 7500 without to much trouble

Could you explain the cost part of going solid? I understand the the maintence part with lash ajustment but is it something you have to do all the time or like once month, year IDK? Sorry for the noob questions just not been around a solid cam car.

To get stuff that will live you are looking at close to $800 in springs and retainers keepers.
Adjustable rockers $1000
cam $450
pushrods $160
lifters $500

hyd
cam $450
springs keep and ret $225
push rods $160
rockers $350
lifters $350
