Default cam swap worth it

I have pondered swaping my cams while the cam was down for the winter and was wondering if it was worth it. The car is a 99 ss M6 with Every bolt on including fast 90/90 and 9 inch with 4.11 gear. Heads are stock. It also has a 100 shot on it but hasnt been sprayed yet. It made 403/371 on its curent setup with the 10 bolt. It now has a MS4 cam in it. I was thinking about swapping in a Patrick G custom grind with EPS lobes. Is it worth it? What would I gain from doing so? Its not a ton of work and not really much money as I already have the ms4 sold if I do it. Easy it even worth doing?

An MS4 cam has more lobe area and faster ramp speed than EPS lobed cams. It's also bigger than most EPS lobed cams for stock cubes. If the EPS cams have an advantage it's in valvetrain stability at higher revs. If peak power is all that matters to you, then it's hard to improve on the MS4. If stronger power in the low and mid range while maintaining excellent power upstairs appeals to you, then a custom cam with less intake duration and a narrower LSA might be worth considering.
