Default burnt cam....?



Has anyone seen this before? They haven't pulled the cam out yet. They think its just the cam, but I kind of feel like there might be another issue....seems like there might be more to it than just a cam. Maybe Lifters not getting the oil the should.
It's on a 2007 Tahoe, 5.3, 120k miles.

Is this stock or aftermarket? In other words has the motor ever been opened up before this?

100% stock. This is just a fleet vehicle on our maintenance program at my work..

Looks like it got run without oil or lost oil pressure...If the cam look like that, just wait till you see the rods...

Takes a lot of heat to turn it colors like that.

The LQ4 I have lost OP due to a wiped bearing and didn't look that bad.(don't know how long it ran w/o OP)
