That's odd, yours have the numbers exactly opposite where mine are. I'm looking a my brand new 0821 ls3 heads and the numbers are between the intake runners, not on them.

Don't rule out an over the counter warranty replacement either.

i picked them up at a local junkyard for 200 bucks they said it came off an iron block 6 liter.

X used to be the GM code for experimental. Not sure if that is still the case; but in years past it was. How do you know the valves are sodium filled?

weigh the valves if you can. I'm not doubting what they will are, but it will help in finding the origin of those heads.

they have part numbers on the top of the valve stem

12565312 EY

cross referenced them on google and came up with ls6 sodium filled exhaust valves... kinda weird how theyre actually a tad smaller than the rest of the l92 heads. my heads came with ls6 springs too.

Any further info on these? Have you verified valve specs? I'm wondering since the small-bore L92/LSX heads use LS6 sized exh valves, and the "X" part# if you're looking at something from GMPP and not GM production. The small bore heads are still listed at 70cc, so I'm thinking they have to open up the chambers some to achieve that??

I have some 07 823's and they are identical to the newest 821.

These heads are interesting. They might be great for boost too.

found out they are prototype heads on work trucks like the hertz rentals and bread work trucks lol i dont know what im going to do with these heads yet...
