Default Two catch cans??

LS2 block with LS3 valley cover, heads, and intake..but it has ls1 valve covers and i needed to remove the two baffles in the passenger side cover. Do I now need a can for the fresh and dirty side?

You should run one on the dirty side for sure. Make some WOT passes then check your fresh air line at the throttle body to see if its spitting any oil into the tb. If it is, then you need a second can.

If you need a catch can, and don't mind fabbing things up, make your own out of an A/C Accumulator.
I had a catch can I paid $100 for and it was a POS!
I grabbed the A/C Accumulator off of a wrecked 00 camaro.
Cut the bottom off and took out the bag of drying stuff.
The pipe that goes almost all the way to the bottom is the inlet.
The opening on top is the outlet to the manifold.
I glued it back together with a 3"pvc coupling.
Drilled and tapped the bottom for a 1/4 inch petcock.
I know it is not the most beautiful thing but it works 100% better. I stuffed the one on my TA under the front bumper.
Works Great for about ? < $20 !

I can post a pic.

Here is a pic of the one on my truck.

The R side is the outlet ( on this configuration ) and L the input. Depends on how you install it.

Main thing is you want the inlet going to the pipe that goes down ! The outlet being at the top going to the intake > PCV .

I used a 1/4 inch pipe thread on the outlet and a 1/2 pipe thread on the inlet.

Where I cut it in half, I cleaned the ends real good and used some Goop Marine glue.

I used some silicone on the fittings to seal the threads.

Like I said, it's not the prettiest, but it functions well

Thats pretty cool thanks a lot for that. Ill probubly use it for the dirty side and hide it some where. What kind of gm car/truck did that accumulator come off of? Im really more worried about the fresh air side, since I dont have the baffle in the cover. I dont want oil to get pushed into the throttle body. Do you think it will?

Who makes those two cans you have? Do you have them both ran on the foul side? Also do you have baffles in your valve covers?

IMO, get either a RX Performance or a Saikou Michi oil catch-can.
Their both quality CCs!

John,

I purchased my two catch cans from Accurate Machine Works about five years ago. I believe they have enlisted the help of another company to market the cans now.

The forward most can is attached to the passenger-side valve cover.

The rear most can is attached to the PCV line.

Yes, my passenger-side valve cover has baffles in it.
