Default Cup cam W/ supporting mods

So im sure everyone has their own opinions, but im in love with this cam. Its the grand am cup cam. (239/251 dur @ 0.050 and 0.570/0.570 lift) on a 106 LSA. Now im building an LS for my third gen that im turning into a strict track day car. Ive read up on this cam and found that people are making in the mid to high 400's HP with all the restrictions required by the classes they are racing. I am very curious to find out how this cam does with all the supporting mods (Higher stroke crank, Higher CI, Non restricted intake) and so on. Or is this cam designed specificly to work with stock cubic inch and restricted intakes. Any info on the subject would be awesome????? maybe even some vids?

I've had it in a 346/ls6 since 2003. My understanding is it was originally spec'd for the World Challenge series by GM. The companion LPE/GM were cnc'd by lingenfelter for GM-specifically for this cam. Originally, in 2003 tuning was a nightmare ...but with VE tuning and EFILive or HP Tuners it's cake.
Mine put down 444rwhp through an Mn12, 4:10s and a fried Exedy clutch. Should have been in the 455-470 range.
Hope this helps some.

ohh...and in a 346 with that lsa it has a very distinct howl- above 4000 RPM. People always comment positively about the sound. I use the car for track/HPDE days.

I also built a spec motor with exception of 6.125 rods. Mine put down 450 rwhp and I turned it 7400. I used the heads, cam, and ls6 intake, crappy Mac headers and a home made exhaust. Had 4.56s in the stock 10 bolt ran 11.56 @ 123 with 1.74 60' never came close to its potential it dropped a valve and trashed a head and some pistons lol LOVED THAT MOTOR. It was like a switch from 3200 up and pulled hard to 7400. I still have this cam and my new SS would love it.
