LQ9 and LS2 pistons are the same? Same compression? Can be interchanged? Have a LQ4 and would like to increase CR.

If you have an LQ9 it should already have flat top pistons, so the LS2 pistons wouldn't help a bit. If your pistons are dished, then the motor is an LQ4.

Another option is to change to some cylinder heads with smaller combustion chambers. Eric L

I just have the 6.0L block. It came as a LQ4 but don't have the pistons anymore so I'm interested in A LQ9, which increase the compression, but then I would like if someone offers me a set of pistons from a LS2, if are the same? Rods are the same too?

Need to have a 2005 or newer LQ4 otherwise the rods are different, and will not accept LS2/LQ9 pistons

Yeah, the newer motors have floating pins, the older ones are pressed. And from what I have seen the newer rods are quite a bit beefier. Eric L

with the beefier rod, the crank balance would be different on the 2005 up unless they changed the piston weight a corresponding amount.....

So which one would you look for, the pressed one or the full floating?

I myself would opt for the floating pins. Eric L

Keep in mind LS2 had 3 different ring packs depending on the year the piston was made.

I have a 6.0L block from a LQ4. I don't have any pistons/rods at this moment, so I have to buy a set, so I was wondering which one is better. Can I use the LQ4 crank with LQ9 pistons/rods set ?

There is a set of LS2 pistons on ebay right now for 169.00 or 210.00 Buy-IT-Now

I purchased one of these sets to put into my LQ4. I am going to have my pins pressed onto my current rods to hang on the ls2 pistons.

yes you can, its a common swap because of the bump in compression
