SDPC pictures of the newly revised LSX block

Default SDPC pictures of the newly revised LSX block

The newest revision of the GM LSX Bowtie block has been released and we have them in house right now.

Main features of this revision are:

-Improved metallurgy that results in upwards of 50% increase in tensile strength throughout the block.

-Reinforced deck with strengthened water passages and bolt holes

-Revised cam oiling passages that allow clocked cam bearings to optimize camshaft oiling in the highest performance applications with huge spring pressures and high loads.

The important question is, "did they fix the core shift problem"? The core shift in this picture below, is just horrible.

That's not core shift...^^^that's a gm display block showing the range of bore sizes.

Then why does it look like the cyl.s on the left seem to be thinner to the left (looks to be bored off center)

All of the cylinders in that picture are like that. The cylinder wall is thinner because of the bolt hole. If the camera was more centered on the block, you would see they would be thinner on the right side of the cylinder as well by the other bolt hole.

I have no first hand experience with this, but I monitor threads about core shift. Will be going with some kind of aftermarket block on the next build.
