Default KATECH LS3 with broke piston

Hey guys hope you guys are having a great easter.

Well my wife has a 04 cts-v with a value 427 short block, AFR 210 heads, blah blah.. Well the car lost the number 7 injector and burned the piston up. My question is would you guys replace the pistons or just put a LQ9 short block in it. It had the motor in it already and is probably a little much for her DD

Sorry to hear about the loss, Losing an Injector is fatal?

I think you should replace it with an LQ9 , and I will trade you one for the 427

Put a new piston in it and call it a day.... Now if there is cylinder wall damage that is a different story. Do you have any pictures of the damage?

I should have it apart by Tuesday and will post pics then. I don't think it been damaged enough to have hurt the cylinder. It started smoking from the pvc and out of the back so we pulled the plugs and found oil all over number 7. So I don't know if its the piston or ringland or what yet.
