New Build! 402 LS2 Suggestions Please!
Well I started to build my LS6 bottom end until I found a good deal on a TSP 402 shortblock. It is going in my 02 Z06. I dropped the shortblock off at the engine shop on Monday for inspection, new rings, and new bearings. I am sending my LS6 heads to get a stage 3 port at LandSpeed and will look for a used FAST 102 when I get the long block back together and in the car. I have a Nitrous Outlet plate system 150hp and the shortblock has diamond pistons and will get nitrous rings. I'm running out of money quick so I thought I would get some other opinions on whether it will be ok to keep my lightly used LS2 timing chain and run my MS3 cam? Will the LS2 chain hold up and will the MS3 cam be big enough for the 402? Thanks in advance.

How "lightly used" is this timing set?

I did a 402 iron block. CNC LS3 heads and a 238/244 custom cam from TSP. Also LS3 intake and TSP 100mm tb with 104 FTP lid. It made 501rwhp and 460rwtq on mustang dyno through 12 bolt with 3.73 gear.

The cam and timing chain only have about 2000 miles on it. After talking with Texas Speed I think I am going to sell my MS3 cam and timing chain and go with their LS7-S cam and a upgraded timing chain. S cam is 242/250 624/624 @ 113+3.
