Mystery cam...
Hi All,
I recently got a killer deal on a nearly complete LS-1 that had a rather large but unknown cam in it. After pulling it for inspection, it appears that all identifying marks have been ground off from the rear face of the back journal. I reinstalled it and degreed it so as to get a rough profile (see enclosed drawing). I know it's a stretch, but is there a way to tell what lobes or who's design by looking? They "appear" to match up with Comp XE-R lobes, numbers 3727 and 3732.
The cam is in good enough shape to run it, and it just happens to be the 3rd best hydraulic cam (simulating in Engine Analzyer Pro) for my street "427" L-92 build with averages of 427 & 514 from 2500 through 6500...
