LS1 ARP Head stud kit on LQ9?
hey guys, i'm looking to swap out my 1998 LS1 for a LQ9 from TSP...I was curious if I could use the ARP head stud kit I have on my car now or if I have to buy the LS2 style kit instead....on their website it says that with the GEN III block you still have to use LS2 head bolts....but I'm wondering if that only pertains to bolts or studs as well? I plan on reusing my stock 806 heads for the time being ( yes I know, i know..."crappy heads" blah, blah, blah ) and i'm not sure if that makes a difference. thanks in advance for the help guys.

Depends on what year LQ9 block it is. If you are buying a motor from them, ask them if it takes the early or late style head bolts/studs. They should be able to tell you. Same rules apply to either studs or bolts. Early or late.

If you buy an engine from us, that block will require a head bolt or stud kit for the 2004+ blocks!
