Default Need to know about barbell for oil bypass.

I have an L92 I am building and I am not near my motor at the moment. I am trying to find if my motor takes just one or 2 of those barbells. I know it takes one in the back but I am also told it takes one in the front. Is that true? If anybody is near their motor could you take pics and post them. it would be greatly appreciated.

Negative, it will still only take the one in the back of the block.

Cool, good to know.

Now I need to find out what timing chain damper/tensioner I need to run on my L92 416. I have been hearing that the LS3 tensioner is crap and they break. Then I hear you can't run most of them with a double roller chain because the chain will rub. What do I run then on an L92 block with a double roller N-Motion chain?

I dont use a tensioner. Its not nec with a double roller. An LS2 tensioner would probably fit though, if you really wanted to use one.

Does the L92 not have the small plug in the front, that looks like a freeze plug?

Yes, they all have coolant plugs as well, but only one "barbell" oil restrictor.

There are 3 smaller screw in plugs for the oil galleys (left & right at front of block and one diagonal near the oil filter/adapter) , one small press in oil galley plug at the front to the left of the oil pump, one larger screw in plug for the cooling jacket passage near the oil filter adapter, and the barbel restrictor that goes in the back of the block behind the rear cover. Also pictured above are the two transmission dowel pins, four spring-pin cylinder head dowels, and main cap side bolts.

I didn't put any tensioner or guide in there. It felt fine compared to what I have felt on some SBC's.

I did have to grind the **** out of the boss on the back of the timing cover where the little bolt that holds the cam sensor. I don't think I will ever put a double roller on and LS motor again. Just a good single roller from now on.
