roller rockers and stud mount conversions etc Anyone tried to convert over to SBC 3/8 screw in studs and Isky adjustable guide plates with a .150 offset rocker? I'm having concerns about the teeny 8mm screw in stud crane offers especially since there isnt a stud girdle available and would rather have a beefier 3/8 stud. I'm not concerned with valve cover clearance as im going to use a fabricated cover anyways. Also i just measured center of rocker bolt to center of valve tip and got 1.430 inch which is a really common SBC rocker dimension. Why wouldnt a SBC roller rocker work if its the same dimensionally?
Ratio's are different. Did you measure from the push rod tip to the bolt hole? Unless there is an offset rocker for small block Chevy's, it's not going to work on an ls3 style head.

I've seen a 1.7 ratio SBC rocker before. Dunno if I can find it in an offset style though. Have to do some searching. I'll measure an SBC rocker to the push rod hole n see what I come up with.

Scorpion makes a 1.7 ratio 1.50 offset roller rocker for 3/8 studs. I measured the offset on the l92 intake rockers and it looks like its really close to 1.80 which is a .030 difference than the sbc offset and you can make that up with the adjustable guideplate and maybe slightly grindind out the pushrod hole . Now i just need to find a sbc rocker to measure the stud to pushrod length and we're in buisness.

I think the effort could be justified. Just to have the adjustability, extra strength and stability, ease of installation if the heads are off the car, and readily available parts that you can run down to the local speed shop just about anywhere and find what you need. And the fact that a stud mount conversion costs 900 dollars to bolt on something that is dwarfed in size by a traditional 3/8 stud doesnt hurt either lol
I would check with the guys that are already running in the low 7's to see what they are doing. If they didn't go through the trouble to convert to a larger, 3/8 stud, then I would waste my time doing it. In the end, the cost will probably be more than using Jesel rockers, which work great.
