Drill oil drain holes in the trays to help that. On high lift cams it may come out of the bucket and spin then you grind a new custom lobe on your nice custom ground cam. It gets rather messy if it spins. 7k ain't no rpms for these engines.

I've got the Morel street link bar lifters for $320, just give me a call if that's what you're looking for.
If it were mine? I'd run the LS7 lifters. $121

Well I think I decided on a set of morel Link bar lifters part # 184-5206-HYD. I would rather remove the trays and not have a failure later on. I'm hoping to keep this motor together for a long time, so I'd rather do it right once. Plus replacing the trays is around $40 bucks anyway.
Who has the lowest price on these lifters? CC performance parts has them for $565. Is there a board vendor offering a deal on these? I would rather buy from them anyway.
Thanks for all the feedback. I am definitely into assembling a motor only once so I really should buy the morels.

And I'm not interested in the "street" version because it is listed as only being good to 6500rpm. I will definitely be revving past that so it is too risky to take the chance. I understand some people have had success, but I'm too broke to build this motor twice lol.

I can beat that price, and I've got them in stock.

Not automatically, it depends what you order. We have really freakin cheap shipping on everything though, our rates are very low. We're willing to see what we can work out on any order though, you'd just have to check with us.

Got the lifters from Scoggin, very happy with the price. I wasn't planning on spending this kind of money on the lifters, but I believe its worth spending an extra $200 now to save thousands later. Getting rid of the plastic trays makes me feel better too.

The cheaper morels aka "street" lifters are a joint venture of Morel and Eaton.
They are made from parts from both the US and Mexico. The real 100% Morel USA lifters a quite a bit more money as many have noticed but never question why.
The lifter doesn't have a huge load going perpendicular to the lobes direction. The plastic lifter is more than fine. Lifters get the bad wrap from other downfalls in the valvetrain more often then not, it is the weak link.

The weakest link is the strength of a chain...the half Mexican stuff will be as strong as full Mexican stuff, nothing more nothing less.

Morel's Racing CHEVY LS HYDRAULIC ROLLER LIFTERS 4708 on agressive hydraulic lobes (9 sets total on my different engines) way above 7500rpm...never an issue with valve-train control, and it was sometime heavy valves!!!

TSP only carries the Lunatti versions but they wanted me to run the comp short travel over the street and high rpm versions. I haven't been able to find much info on the ones put in my motor.
Are the ones you listed like $700 something? My comps were $580 so they may do the same as the lunatti high rpm versions, just cheaper. I dunno I just told them what kind of end result and the helped guid me along with selecting parts for the build.
