you must have edited one of your last posts cause your math is now wrong, but was correct originally.

If you have a 7.250 pushrod and .017 is still required under the valve to remove the slack then your math should be 7.250 + (.017 divided by 1.7) which equals 7.260. add your .60 preload and it gives you 7.320. So you will need 7.325 or 7.350 rods

the 1.58 number is for calculating pushrod movment when the valve is fixed. the 1.7 number is for calculating valve movement when the the trunion is fixed.

Hey,

Just to let you know, I called Lunati this morning and they agreed that I would be better off with the 7.350 pushrods! Thanks for the help,

DG

I have I question, I have a length checker and understand how to use it, but my question is when your first building the motor and the lifter has never been pumped up, how do you know if the plunger is all the way at the top of the lifter or if its half way pushed down, wouldn't this effect the measurment and finding correct preload? Or does the plunger on the morels always stay pressed to the top when not in use.
