Who's running an LS2+Boost? currently have a SBC with a procharger (approx 700fwhp), its been running strong for about 7 years now and i know its going to go soon. anyway i want to build an LS and keep the Procharger and make (approx 800fwhp)so i have a few questions... How much power can i make before i have to worry about the block? its a DRAG RACE ONLY car so how many seasons have u guys run with that much power? i want to save the weight and use an LS2 but should i go with an LQ for the strength? how much boost can i run? (looking to run 15lbs) Thanks Anthony |
We have been able to make over 1000rwhp a few times on the LS2 aluminum blocks. I would say where we start to worry would be right around 1200-1300 hp at the flyhweel mark. The type of power you are talking about should not be a problem, as long as you get some forged parts in the rotating assembly. As long as you have a good tune I would expect the motor to last for a pretty long time on 15 lbs. |

We are big fans of Wiseco pistons here, they are a great quality pistons with a great quality ring set for not a ton of money. Looks like you should be in a good spot! |
