I'm doing a LY6 swap in my 1989 Chevy c1500 and I'm wondering if anyone can give me any advice on a good set of long tube headers

Schoenfeld makes a set of long tubes for those trucks, you can get them from summit in painted or coated. If you go for painted, be advised that the paint is pretty poor, some people say it's come off of theirs in shipping.
