I heard from WCCH and they recommended going with the LSW 12-2 head with the 310cc intake and 116cc exhaust runners. I am not fixed on the combustion chamber size yet. These heads flow 425cfm intake and 275cfm at .850 lift. Only downfall of these heads is I need to have custom headers made and the MAST intake manifold I was going to use will not work either. I will be going with the All Pro single plane cast manifold instead.

That's not a downfall dude. That's the upside of using such a badass head. I think koolrays on here has a set of them on his motor and he is running in the 7's turbocharged.

I have talked to All-Pro about a set of those heads and an intake and I cried on the phone when I was told the price. You can buy a 2009 certified used Chevy cobalt for the price of them!

I guess I only meant it as a downfall because I already had a set of kook's 2" headers. But Richard from WCCH said I should use at least a 2-1/4" primary and 4-1/2" collector. I will be gong with a custom made set of SPD stainless steel headers. I got the quote and it is not for the everyone, lol. I will have almost 25K in the motor alone when all the sudden done.

LOL, You and Richard say the same stuff. I sent him an email asking about the stuff you wanted to know, just waiting on a reply.

You will be able to sell the Kooks easily though to help pay for the headers being done. Have you shopped around first for custom headers?

No, not yet. SPD was recommended by Richard at WCCH. Do you know any other places I should look into? Thank you.

I believe that block has a stock cam location? If it is and the rod has 2.1 pins, you should make your engine builder aware of the RPM, cam location, stroke and desired power.

It does have the stock cam location. I am not 100% sure I follow what you mean? Please explain, I have heard of a lot of your builds and would love any input you could give. Thank you.

The rod will hit the cam with the normal camshaft that would be used in the rpm/power level you are looking for. Your engine builder should be directing your purchases as your power and cubes has some places where clearances will be close and concessions will need to be made.

I bought all of this stuff as a package from a guy who builds engines and was going to use himself but changed direction. After talking with Martin at Tick who is working with me on the cam, we are only going to spin the motor to 8300 rpm's max. Do you think that will clear?

I have not built this block/stroke combo before, sounds like Tick has. They have should have you covered.

Kurt, we have not used this stroke/block combination either.

We were advised by Richard at WCCH to keep the max rpm around 8000rpm because of the stroke/rod combination and plan to shift at or around 8200-8300rpm with peak horsepower coming in at 7800-8000rpm.

I am not assembling this engine either more so the valve-train components and orchestrating the specific characteristics of the combination such as dynamic, cam timing, cylinder heads used, intake used, CSA, valve-train weight etc. etc. etc.

I would like to hear your thoughts if you wouldn't mind sharing. There is plenty of room for you to join in on this conversation, your wisdom is much appreciated.

Rods will not have a problem clearing the cam. The block should house up to a 4.600 stroke with clearance work. If you need advice on checking cylinder seating and other clearances to check pm me I have built my share of Warhawk blocks and dealt with the sleeves dropping amongst other things as well.

Have the block checked for machining/tolerances before you start.

World has quite a history of sending out blocks that need some work before you can start assembly.

This block has already been used in a 1000hp application. It was checked after it was taken apart and I bought it, everything checked out fine with the sleeves.
