l92 in shortbed
Alright I have a 85 short bed project I am working on I just purchased a complete l92 engine from a wrecked 08 Escalade. I have the plan to carb this engine and hook it up to my well built th350. Here is the plan so far
l92 engine
victor jr. intake
holley 750hp until I can swing for a prosystems sv1
I am running a 34" tall tire in the rear with 4.11s maybe put a 30" tall tire for racing
th 350 and a stall that matches the recommended cam
full length headers
So my goals with this truck is to get down the track real well. This is my street/strip car that I would like to make to be able to drive down the road. only really willing to go with a 3400 stall. I want to able to cruise down the freeway. any help would greatly be appreciated.

Sounds like a good set up and entering the gear ratio and the tire size into our gear ratio calculator your RPM’s would be 2843 with the street tire and 3222 with the 30” @ 70 mph. You’re correct a 3400 converter would be the absolute highest stall without a lock up transmission but, we would recommend something closer to 3000 stall. Will you be converting to a 3 bolt cam or sticking with a single bolt non VVT cam? How aggressive would you like your idle to be and do you have power brakes? We can make a couple recommendations after having this information.

There are several cams we offer that would be a good fit. I recommend one of the Comp Cams LSR 54-469-11 due its very wide power range and it would work great with a 2800-3000 converter. If you would like to get a more aggressive sound from the cam we could always order a custom grind with a LSA of 110 and add a couple degrees of intake center line to increase throttle response. This cam will require the valve springs to be changed out and Comp Cams offers a Tool Steel Kit or a Titanium Kit.

sell the th350 and get you a 4l80 tranny so you can enjoy the overdrive out in the highway. i run an fti 3800 stall with no issues. carbed ls motors prefer a tighter lsa like 110 which also will make it lope, lope, lope
